Methodology

Learning Spanish with us will be exciting, efficient and yet very relaxed. Our method emphasizes conversation and provides the students the opportunity to speak Spanish from their first moment in class. The purpose is to put Spanish in action outside the classroom that very same afternoon either with our own students, our staff or just with the people you encounter.

We have created a methodology that is based on a modern communicative approach emphasizing conversation. We recognize each student’s particular needs therefore we tailor our programs to the academic goals of the student.

The Latin American Spanish Institute offers different courses in the Spanish program. We have courses for beginners, for intermediate levels, for advanced levels, private tutoring. We are here to help you understand the language and to put it into practice.

Our course offerings are all taught by experienced teachers with university training in Spanish. The professors are open to teaching survival skills and grammatical structures which are most important to students.

Our class training provides professionals also with the Spanish required on the job back home. Mastering difficult concepts is facilitated by the small class size.

The conversations will always be guided by the professors and will be supplemented by oral and written exercises as well as other activities in which the students can practice what they have learned. Our programs are designed for students of different levels.

Our primary goal is to teach you the language in a warm, friendly yet challenging environment .Remember that our program uses a combination of immersion teaching methods centered around the communicative approach and that our main objective is to enable students, like you, to really communicate in the language.

The course incorporates all aspects of language acquisition: conversation, grammar, reading, listening, writing, general comprehension and idiomatic expressions.

In addition to formal textbooks, we use a wide variety of current materials: newspapers, literature, audio-cassettes, videos, advertisements, music, short stories and more. Classes also incorporate field-trips and out-of-class learning, and the direct interaction with high school students which will enhance the possibility of learning and practicing the language.
